Cisco renews the complete Cisco Security Professional certification with the introduction of four new courses. A name change goes along with these course introductions: ‘CCSP’ is now named ‘CCNP Security’. Complete information can be found in the CCNP Security section.
Cisco also renews the complete Cisco Voice Associate and Professional certifications to Cisco Collaboration v8.0. `CCVP' is now named `CCNP Voice'. More information can be found in the CCNP Voice section.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size route and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. CCNA curriculum includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance-based skills. This curriculum also includes (but is not limited to) the use of these protocols: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2),VLANs, Ethernet, access control lists (ACLs).
More information in the CCNA Routing & Switching section.
The Cisco CCNP curriculum is designed for students seeking career oriented, enterprise-level networking skills. CCNP helps students develop the skills needed to succeed in ICT-related degree programs and prepare for the Cisco CCNP certification. It provides a theoretically rich and challenging, hands-on learning experience covering advanced routing, switching, and troubleshooting skills. CCNP provides a next step for CCNA Discovery or CCNA Exploration students who want to build on their CCNA-level skill set to further a career in computer networking.
CCNP equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to plan, implement, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot converged enterprise networks. The CCNP curriculum was designed to reflect the job skills and responsibilities that are associated with professional-level job roles such as network engineer, systems engineer, network support engineer, network administrator, network consultant , and system integrator.
The CCNP curriculum consists of three courses: CCNP ROUTE: Implementing Cisco IP Routing, CCNP SWITCH: Implementing Cisco Switched Networks, and CCNP TSHOOT: Maintaining and Troubleshooting Cisco IP Networks. More information in the CCNP Routing & Switching sections.
Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA®) validates knowledge required to design a Cisco converged network. With a CCDA certification, a network professional demonstrates the skills required to design routed and switched network infrastructures and services involving LAN, WAN, and broadband access for businesses and organizations. The CCDA curriculum includes designing basic campus, data center, security, voice, and wireless networks.
CCNA level knowledge and SWITCH level knowledge is needed to prepare for the CCDA certification exam.
CCDA Recommended Training
Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN)
Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP®) validates advanced knowledge of network design concepts and principles. With a CCDP certification, a network professional can discuss, design, and create advanced addressing and routing, security, network management, data center, and IP multicast complex multi-layered enterprise architectures that include virtual private networking and wireless domains. The CCDP curriculum includes Implementing Cisco IP Routing, Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks and Designing Cisco Network Service Architecture.
Valid CCNA and CCDA or any CCIE Certification form.
