Formations Linux

 

Linux has moved through infancy and adolescence to become a mature operating system. Many businesses have chosen Linux for all or some of their servers. John Cordier Academy offers several Linux trainings helping you to master a Unix/Linux system quickly and effectively. They are helpful for Linux and Unix users who need to consolidate and advance basic knowledge that they have picked up in an ad hoc fashion but also for Linux and Unix users taking their first steps into professional Unix/Linux environments.

As with all of the JCA courses, the Linux courses make extensive use of practical exercises and draws heavily on our trainers’ own experience.

 

Linux/Unix Fundamentals (LIN01) 

  • Learn to work on a UNIX operating system. The class focuses on Linux distributions (focus on Red Hat Enterprise – RPM-based distributions) and Oracle Solaris 10 systems on the Intel platform (x86). Other operating systems mentioned and/or used during the course are Debian, Novell SuSE, Ubuntu, OpenBSD, ...
  • For novice users, this course is a first step to obtain the LPI or RHCT certifications.
  • This course provide a thorough introduction to UNIX and Linux covering basic operating system concepts, and gives a solid grounding in UNIX command, utilities, and shell features.

 

Linux/Unix System administration (LIN02)

This Linux/Unix System Administration course teaches students how to install, configure, manage and monitor a Linux system. Students will learn how to perform all major administrative tasks including installation, user’s management, file and disk management, backup, networking. The course is not specific to a particular Linux distribution and includes comprehensive hands on.

 

Linux/Unix Networking and Security Administration (LIN13) 

This course covers all network administration aspects of Linux environment and details administration tasks like configuring and securing an Apache Web server, installing a Squid proxy, understanding Samba, attaching FTP and Mail Servers and introduces IPv6 support on Linux.

 

Certification

Combined, the 3 aforementioned courses cover all of the topics addressed by the LPI and the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
